Minister Sharon A. Yelverton shares in ministry with her husband, Bishop Kenneth M. Yelverton, Pastor & Founder of The Temple Of Refuge International Fellowship, an innovative and progressive ministry located in Charlotte, North Carolina. With a true heart for women, it was through this ministry that she founded the Daughters Of Virtue & Excellence Women’s Ministry. Through the DOVE Ministry was birthed a Married Women’s Ministry, Single Moms Ministry, and a Young Adult Women’s Ministry. She works diligently along side her husband to oversee the administration of the Church.
She is an active Board member of “Calling First Ladies”, a ministry founded by Dr. Wanda Davis Turner which strives to support and meet the spiritual needs of those persons whose spouses are prominent figures in their community and the nation. Minister Yelverton has attended the White House’s Annual National First Ladies Summit which is held in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to allow African American Pastor Wives an opportunity to come together and celebrate the values of what Dr. King stood for. She is also a member of this First Ladies Summit which meets every year. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and worked as a Computer Programmer at Bank Of America for 10 years before her work in fulltime ministry. She has plans to pursue a Master’s Degree in Christian Counseling.
Minister Yelverton is a woman of great faith and trust in God for every area of her life. She is fully committed to the purpose of God in the earth, and strives to serve God's people in a spirit of excellence. With the many responsibilities that she has to perform, she exemplifies the spirit of excellence nowhere better than in the home. She is the proud mother of two beautiful children, daughter Kendall Monet Yelverton and son Kendrick Anthony Yelverton.
